High School Chapters
WYWA has established four active high school chapters throughout San Francisco, each independently run by a student-led executive team at their respective school. Every chapter hosts writing circles, workshops, and peer-led discussions that nurture creative confidence and storytelling skills. Their shared year-long goal is to produce a collaborative novel by the end of each school year—highlighting original WYWA works and amplifying the voices and experiences of young women across their campus.

Chapter Achievements
Lowell WYWA
In collaboration with Junkyard Literary Magazine, Lowell WYWA hosted a creative journaling and scrapbooking workshop centered on personal growth and self-wellness. With 25+ attendees, students created vision-style journals focused on goals, identity, and reflection while building community through storytelling. The event was catered by T-Pumps and generously sponsored by the Lowell PTSA, making it an afternoon of creativity, connection, and collective inspiration.
SI WYWA
SI WYWA organized a service workshop where 40+ students attended a presentation from La Casa De Las Madres’ Teen Program on domestic violence awareness. Following the workshop, students assembled 30+ care baskets filled with essential items and handwritten notes for survivors. In addition to the care packages, Lowell SI contributed an additional $5,000 donation to support the shelter’s ongoing work, turning education and compassion into meaningful community action.
